Una Poca Historia

This building is the one next to the school building.  It was a Jewish synagogue up until the 1400's, when it was turned in to a Catholic church.  Currently it's being used as cloisters for nuns.

The school building is located on a street called "Paseo del Salon".  We learned in class today that prior to the 1400's when the Jewish people were walking to the synagogue they would greet each other and the Spaniards with "Shalom", hello in Hebrew.  This word doesn't flow well off the Spanish tongue, and was translated in to "salon".  Thus, the school is located on the "street of hello" or "street of peace", and that it has had that name for at least 600 years.
