El Escorial is the largest building in all of Spain. It was built in 21 years in the 1500's, which is impressive when considering most large buildings were built over a span of hundreds of years. Inside the building there is a library, a palace, a monastery a basilica an elementary school, and the tombs of nearly all of Spain's royalty.
Once again, we weren't allowed to take photos inside the building. Bummer.
